1 Of David. A psalm.
The LORD said to my lord,
“Sit at My right hand
while I make your enemies your footstool.”
1 A Psalm of David. The LORD saith unto my lord: ‘Sit thou at My right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.'
2 The LORD will stretch forth from Zion your mighty scepter;
hold sway over your enemies!
2 The rod of Thy strength the LORD will send out of Zion: 'Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.'
3 Your people come forward willingly on your day of battle.
In majestic holiness, from the womb,
from the dawn, yours was the dew of youth.
3 Thy people offer themselves willingly in the day of thy warfare; in adornments of holiness, from the womb of the dawn, Thine is the dew of thy youth.
4 The LORD has sworn and will not relent,
“You are a priest forever, a rightful king by My decree.”
4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent: 'Thou art a priest for ever After the manner of Melchizedek.'
5 The Lord is at your right hand.
He crushes kings in the day of His anger.
5 The Lord at thy right hand Doth crush kings in the day of His wrath.
6 He works judgment upon the nations,
heaping up bodies,
crushing heads far and wide.
6 He will judge among the nations; He filleth it with the dead bodies, He crusheth the head over a wide land.
7 He drinks from the stream on his way;
therefore he holds his head high.
7 He will drink of the brook in the way; Therefore will he lift up the head.
